Political scientist Nathan Gonzalez of Cal State Long Beach will discuss the recent uprisings in the Arab world, prospects for democracy, the state of women’s rights, and the role the United States in the region on Saturday, Nov. 19 in Santa Ana.
Gonzalez will speak at a gathering of MANA de Orange County, a Latina advocacy and leadership organization. An expert on Iran, he is a fellow with the Truman National Security Project, lectures on Middle Eastern politics and international studies at CSULB and has written two books about the Mideast.
His presentation takes place from 1-3 p.m. at the Bowers Kidseum, 1802 N. Main St., Santa Ana. Cost is $5 for members, $10 for guests.
